"RePublish" asked for an existing text or idea to be reworked into a new publishing format. I took the idea of a moral compass — the everyday, mostly invisible decisions that define character — and turned it into something a reader has to physically act on rather than just read.
Inside a cloth-bound case sits a five-by-five grid of miniature numbered boxes, one to twenty-five, each hand-finished and lined with coloured tissue paper holding a small rolled note inside. At the degree show, visitors picked a number, opened that box, and were free to respond on a card left at the table — turning the reading experience into something closer to a confession booth than a book.
Twenty-five was deliberate — enough that no one visitor could open them all, so every reading of the piece was necessarily partial.
